Having problems with dead skin on your lips? Stop worrying about your chapping lips as I give you a DIY Lush lip scrub, which is as easy as 1, 2, 3. This recipe, like many of the DIYs I’ve already shared, uses common household items you’ll most likely find in your kitchen cupboard. So, prepare to wow everyone with your lush lips.
This Easy DIY Lush Lip Scrub Will Make Your Lips Soft Without The Hefty Pricetag
An overall skin care regimen is extremely important. It’s not enough to just look after your face without taking care of your lips. Peeling and flaky lips are common problems resulting from several factors. One is, of course, dehydration. We all know the importance of drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, and this holds true to your lips. The weather, medical conditions, and sensitivity to lipstick or lip balms are other factors.
Dead skin on your lips is definitely unsightly. The good thing is you can do something about it just like so many of your skin care problems. All you have to do is prepare a Lush lip scrub to take off those unwanted dead skin. Making a homemade scrub is especially beneficial since the ingredients you use are not too harsh.
I’ve been looking for the perfect DIY Lush lip scrub without having to spend a hefty amount of money from the brand, and this one is by far my most favorite. I use this at least once a week, twice the most, to maintain my healthy looking lips. I wouldn’t recommend using this scrub more than twice a week though as over-exfoliating is not good for your puckers.
For this Lush lip scrub, you will need the following:
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar or regular sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- Mixing bowl
Step 1. Place sugar in bowl
Put 1 tablespoon of brown or regular sugar in the mixing bowl. Sugar is a natural exfoliator that can keep off those unwanted and unsightly dead skin.
Step 2. Add olive oil
Add 1/2 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil to the sugar. Olive oil is loaded with anti-aging antioxidants and hydrating properties good for your lips.
Step 3. Add the honey
Place as much honey until you achieve the right consistency. Honey is an antibacterial and is packed with antioxidants. It also helps soothe and moisturize the skin thus giving it a glow.
Step 4. Apply Your very own Lush lip scrub
Apply the homemade Lush lip scrub generously. Let it sit for a minute or two before washing it off with a warm washcloth.
Step 5. Store remaining Lush lip scrub
If you still have more lush lip scrub remaining, you can store it in a clean container. You can still use the mixture the next time you exfoliate your lips.
